Goals
By building the longest-running and most well-known writing competition for Aotearoa New Zealand teenagers, we aim to:
foster a desire in teenagers to participate in the creative arts
create a community of teenage writers who respect and support each other
set teenagers on a path to becoming confident and skilful communicators
give teenagers an opportunity to create an impact on the world
What are Re-Draft’s unique features that create benefit?
Results are not a flat ‘yes’ or ‘no’. Instead, Re-Draft offers editing consultations to help writers bring their entries up to an even higher, publishable standard.
Any genre is accepted, even newly invented ones.
80 to 90 winners each year.
Publication in a high quality, collectable book is the prize. Winners receive a complimentary copy.
The Re-Draft books bring national attention to a large number of skilled, teenage writers and their interests and concerns.
