Entry Guidelines

What you need to enter Re-Draft

Use this checklist before sending your entries

It is for your own benefit. There is no need to send the checklist to us.

◯   Submit the completed online entry form.

◯   Your age must be 13-19 years at the time of entering.

◯   If you are entering for the first time and are no longer at school, provide proof of age.

◯   Send your own original work in an A4 sized document using Times New Roman on a white background.

◯   DO NOT send work that has already been published, submitted for publication elsewhere (including anywhere on the Internet) or currently entered for another competition.

◯   ATTACH one copy of each entry as a .DOCX FILE to an email (online links, shared files, Google Docs etc will not be accepted.)

◯   SEND your email to the email address that we will provide once you have submitted the online form.

◯   Your name should only appear on your entry form. Remove your name from your work. Ensure that each entry has a title at the top of the first page.

◯   Entries must be a suitable length for publication in a collection of many other works. Maximum is around 4000 words, but the story must be well sustained and well-shaped. Be economical with words. Instead of character backstory or setting descriptions, let the reader judge characters by what they say and do, and by what happens next.
